Storyteller Overland, an industry leader in the class B RV and adventure vehicle manufacturing space, is proud to announce its CEO, Jeffrey Hunter, has been named a finalist for the 2023 CEO Awards by the Birmingham Business Journal.

This award recognizes excellence among top executives in the Birmingham metro area for businesses of all sizes.

“This year’s list includes an elite list of leaders from a range of industries – from manufacturing companies and banking businesses to medical giants and the real estate world – ranked based on the number of employees on the local level,” said The Birmingham Business Journal in a release. Storyteller Overland was honored in the Large (100 employees and up) category.

Hunter has been in the custom vehicle industry for more than a decade. When he had the idea to create Storyteller Overland, he wanted to build upon that success but also build an interconnected community around a product. With a crew of six other industry veterans, they launched Storyteller Overland in 2018 with Hunter as CEO.

“It was never about making a cooler van,” Hunter said. “This was an acknowledgement that this was a movement, a community. And if we got it right, we would be impacting people’s lives in a meaningful way. We would be unleashing people to give themselves permission to be more adventurous. That seemed very satisfying.”

The CEO Award announcement lines up with Storyteller Overland’s five-year anniversary since becoming a company. In these last five years, Hunter has led the company through rapid growth, a few acquisitions, and most recently the launch of the industry-disrupting HILT Adventure Truck.

“There’s a tremendous amount of gratitude but an equal amount of excitement,” he said. “I say this a lot, but in every way possible, our best ideas are ahead of us, not behind us.”

CEO Award Finalists will be honored at an event Dec. 7 at Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama, and a winner in each category will be named.

Thank you to Birmingham Business Journal for the recognition!
